My Journey from Personal Struggle to
Holistic Wellness Practitioner

As a woman in my 40s I found coming into this time of my life difficult. I felt different physically and mentally, and there were little explanations out there as to why. I felt tired, anxious, and stressed. As a well-travelled individual who had lived all over the world, I started to notice I had a lacklustre attitude which was unlike me. I read countless books and listened to various experts but did not feel I was finding any resolve. The Western answer seemed to be to medicalise the natural healthy stages of a woman’s life. Menstruation, pregnancy, perimenopause, and menopause needed to be controlled and treated rather than recognised as healthy transitions that could be helped along by intuitive and natural approaches. At this time, I was diagnosed with adenomyosis which led me to seek alternative methods to improve my quality of life.

Alternative medicine and holistic practice have always been something I am interested in. Our mental health is intricately connected to our physical well-being and when our body is in balance, we can find equilibrium.

Chinese medicine views the body as a whole entity and works to maintain its balance before issues arise. As my life has evolved, this concept resonated with me more deeply. I found Yin yoga deeply nourishing during my menstrual cycle. Having practiced Reiki for over a decade, I found that by combining these two powerful healing modalities, I was provided with significant relief and support, which alleviated the need for strong pain killers which I was reluctant to use.

Through extensive reading and research I realised the profound benefits Yin Yoga and Reiki could offer to everyone. These practices effectively addressed common issues such as chronic stress reduction, anxiety relief and emotional healing. It could alleviate symptoms of menopause such as hot sweats, reduced stress by lowering cortisol levels, enhance blood flow to reproductive organs, and release emotional traumas held within the body. The list was endless.

Inspired by my experience I travelled to Bali and dedicated two months to obtain my Vinyasa and Yin Yoga qualification. Having previously qualified as a Reiki practitioner I began offering treatments, sharing the powerful impact of these holistic approaches.

This work is far more than a job for me it is a passion, my calling. My mission is to support and uplift as many people as possible by bringing balance, calm, and wellness to their lives.
